The United States has delivered military supplies to Nigerian security agencies to support ongoing security operations across the country.
The delivery was confirmed on Tuesday by the United States Africa Command, which said the consignment arrived in Abuja.
According to the statement, the supplies are aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s operational capacity and reinforcing the long-standing security partnership between both countries.
The US Africa Command noted that the delivery underscores the shared commitment of both nations to tackling security challenges and enhancing regional stability.
Nigeria has in recent months experienced a surge in insecurity, including widespread kidnappings and attacks in several parts of the country.
It will be recalled that US forces carried out airstrikes on terrorist hideouts in North-West Nigeria on Christmas Day as part of efforts to weaken extremist groups operating in the region.
