Cuba Ready To Fall After Maduro’s Capture — Trump.

President Donald Trump has stated that Cuba is “ready to fall” following the capture of Venezuelan President, Nicolás Maduro by United States forces, arguing that Havana can no longer depend on Venezuela for protection and oil supply support.

Trump made the comments late on Sunday while addressing reporters aboard Air Force One, after Saturday’s operation in which United States forces detained Maduro and his wife over charges linked to an alleged narco-terrorism conspiracy.

According to Trump, the removal of Maduro has weakened Cuba’s influence and strategic standing in the region, as Venezuela is no longer in a position to assist its allies financially or militarily.

When asked whether he was considering United States action in Cuba, Trump responded: “I think it’s just going to fall. I don’t think we need any action. Looks like it’s going down. It’s going down for the count.”

His remarks came amid rising regional reactions to the capture of Maduro, which has led to protests and growing diplomatic tension.

Cuban authorities have accused the United States of breaching Venezuela’s sovereignty and have called for public rallies in support of Caracas.

United States officials have alleged that Cuban security forces played a major role in sustaining Maduro’s administration.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Cuban operatives effectively controlled Venezuela’s internal intelligence and security structure, including the personal protection of Maduro.
