Former Secretary to the Government of Rivers State, Dr Tammy Danagogo, has refuted allegations linking him to an alleged assassination plot against the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, alongside Pastor Tombari Joseph Gbeneol and others.
In a statement issued on Monday by his Special Assistant, Obele Briggs, Dr Danagogo said the reports circulating across some online platforms are “baseless, false, and deliberately fabricated.”
The former Minister of Sports stressed that he has never taken part in any discussion, meeting, or activity connected to violence, assassination, or any unlawful conduct.
According to him, the allegations are malicious attempts aimed at damaging his reputation, deceiving the public, and dragging him into matters he has no knowledge of.
The statement reads, “The claims, which are being circulated on certain online platforms, are false, malicious, and deliberately crafted to smear my hard-earned reputation, mislead the public, and drag his name into issues he knows absolutely nothing about,” he said.
The statement further described the former SSG as a peace-loving and law-abiding citizen who has served Rivers State and Nigeria with “distinction and integrity”.
It added that throughout his public and private engagements, he has consistently upheld the rule of law.
The statement urged members of the public to disregard the “unfounded and mischievous reports”, which he said exist only in the imagination of those spreading them.
Dr Danagogo also clarified that he is not on the run, as alleged, and stated that he is ready to appear before the police or any responsible law enforcement agency for investigation, if invited.
