I May Be Arrested Soon - El-rufai Cries Out.

Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has raised concerns that he could soon face arrest as political tensions grow in Nigeria.

El-Rufai, who moved from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC), said some of his associates have already been detained, suggesting that action against him may follow.

The ex-governor claimed that politicians across the country are being pressured to either stay with the APC or join the party, a move he believes aims to weaken opposition influence ahead of upcoming elections.

El-Rufai made the remarks during an interview with BBC Hausa, noting that while he has not been arrested, four of his colleagues in Kaduna have already been taken into custody.

This statement comes at a time when Nigeria is witnessing high-profile legal actions against political figures.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has accused former Attorney-General Abubakar Malami of abuse of office, money laundering, and later alleged involvement in terrorism financing.

Malami, who also defected from the APC to the ADC, has denied wrongdoing, describing the charges as politically motivated.
