Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, widely known as Sunday Igboho, has declared his readiness to work with the Federal Government to remove bandits hiding in forests across the South-West.
In an interview with The Punch, Igboho said he and his loyalists are prepared to move into the forests in Yorubaland to confront criminal groups, but only if they receive approval and backing from the Federal Government.
Igboho, who has long spoken against insecurity in the region, said attacks on rural communities by armed groups have continued to cause fear among residents.
Over the years, he has taken part in efforts aimed at pushing out suspected bandits from parts of Oyo State, insisting that local communities must be protected from violence.
He explained that any move into the forests must be done with the consent and support of the Federal Government.
According to him, without official approval, his group cannot carry out such operations.
The activist also stated that following his release and pardon, he is willing to cooperate with the authorities to restore peace in affected areas.
He said criminal elements and rogue herders have become a threat to safety in some communities and must be removed.
Igboho added that he has enough supporters who are ready to assist in protecting villages and remote settlements.
However, he maintained that their involvement depends on a clear directive and support from the government under the leadership of Bola Tinubu.
He concluded that once given the go-ahead, he and his team are fully prepared to contribute to efforts aimed at improving security in the South-West.
