The Lagos State Government has shut down Ladipo Spare Parts Market in Mushin due to ongoing violations of environmental rules and public order.
The action took place along the Apapa–Oshodi Expressway corridor after authorities observed repeated offenses by traders and market operators.
Officials reported that traders were dumping waste onto roads and engaging in illegal street trading, creating traffic problems and safety hazards for the public.
The market, a key center for automobile spare parts in Lagos and nearby regions, was sealed as part of the state’s effort to enforce regulations and maintain order in urban areas.
The government has warned traders and residents several times against illegal dumping and street trading.
Authorities stated that monitoring will continue across Lagos, and similar penalties will be applied to any other offenders.
