Lagos To Close Popular Expressway.

Lagos State will partially close the Lagos–Abeokuta Expressway for four weeks to allow the Federal Ministry of Works to fix damaged sections of the road.

The work begins on Wednesday, February 11, and will run until March 11.

The repairs will cover the area from U-Turn Bus Stop to Sango Tollgate, affecting both directions.

The project will be carried out in two phases to reduce traffic disruptions.

The first phase, from February 11 to March 4, will affect traffic heading toward Abeokuta.

Vehicles from Lagos and Abule-Egba will be directed to one side of the road, about 20 metres away from the construction area, while work continues on the other lane.

Traffic toward Lagos will not be affected during this stage.

The second phase, from March 4 to March 11, will focus on Lagos-bound traffic between Obadeyi Bus Stop and Ekoro Junction.

Vehicles coming from Abeokuta and Sango Tollgate will use one half of the road while the other lane is under repair.

During this phase, movement toward Abeokuta will remain free.

The Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation assured that proper traffic control will be in place throughout the repairs.

Motorists are advised to plan ahead, follow road signs, and cooperate with officials while the work is carried out.

The closure is part of ongoing efforts to improve major federal highways in the region.
