The National Business and Technical Examinations Board has released the results of the 2025 November/December National Business Certificate and National Technical Certificate examinations, including the advanced levels.
The announcement was made at the board’s headquarters in Benin by the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of NABTEB, Dr Aminu Mohammed.
He disclosed that a good number of candidates performed well, with 60 per cent scoring five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics.
He explained that the results were released 64 days after the final paper, showing the board’s steady effort to run examinations in a clear and orderly manner.
According to him, a total of 61,591 candidates registered for the examinations across the country.
This figure included 57,444 ordinary level candidates and 4,147 advanced level candidates, showing an increase of over 28 per cent when compared to the 2024 enrolment.
The examinations were held in 2,079 centres nationwide, which marked an increase of nearly 14 per cent in the number of centres.
This growth, he noted, reflected rising trust in NABTEB examinations among candidates and institutions.
Breakdown of results across trade areas showed that candidates in Construction Trades recorded 79.32 per cent success, Engineering Trades had 76.84 per cent, Miscellaneous Trades recorded 77 per cent, while Business Trades stood at 52.07 per cent. In total, 57.32 per cent of candidates were certified as craftsmen, while 56.52 per cent qualified as master craftsmen.
Dr Mohammed further stated that 54,009 candidates, representing 94.74 per cent, obtained five credits or more, including English Language and Mathematics.
On examination malpractice, he revealed that 259 candidates, or 0.42 per cent, were involved, which was lower than the figure recorded in 2024. He attributed this drop to improved monitoring and stronger cooperation with security agencies.
He restated the board’s resolve to support technical and vocational education in Nigeria through digital tools and close work with relevant stakeholders.
According to him, the focus remains on preparing young Nigerians with modern skills that can support national development.
Candidates were advised to check their results on the NABTEB portal.
The registrar also announced that registration for the 2026 in-school NBC and NTC examinations has already begun.
