NURTW Names Lagos Garage After Tinubu.

The Lagos chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers has named a newly built motor park in honour of President Bola Tinubu.

The facility, called the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Modern Garage, is located in Oyingbo, Lagos.

It is set to be unveiled today during a ceremony that will bring together leaders of the union and officials of the Lagos State Government.

The project, described as costing several millions of naira, was completed ahead of the official opening.

Union members and invited guests are expected to gather at the venue to witness the event.

Among those billed to attend are the Lagos NURTW Chairman, Mustapha Sego; the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Aremu Akiolu; the Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Governor, Tayo Ayinde; the Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi; and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Sola Giwa.

The naming of the Oyingbo garage adds to the list of public structures that now bear the President’s name since he took office on May 29, 2023.

In March 2024, the airport in Minna was renamed the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport. Two months later, a road in Abuja was renamed Bola Ahmed Tinubu Way.

Also in May 2024, a building at the National Assembly complex was named after him. In January 2025, the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Polytechnic in Gwarinpa and the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Barracks in Abuja were inaugurated.

In the same year, the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Adamawa State was also named after the President.
