Popular Nollywood Actor In Coma.

 

Popular Nollywood comic actor and content creator, Bamidele Tope Saint, widely known as Okemesi, is currently fighting for his life after falling into a coma.

The actor was said to have developed serious health issues linked to medication he received during a recent hospital stay. This new crisis happened just two days after he moved into a new apartment that was rented for him through public support.

Okemesi had earlier cried out for help when an illness left him homeless and struggling. Nigerians responded by raising money to assist him, and he was able to secure accommodation while continuing treatment.

However, fellow Nollywood actor Jeff Owolewa, also known as Tony Montana, shared an update on Instagram explaining that Okemesi’s condition suddenly worsened. According to him, the actor had been sleeping almost all through the weekend and was barely eating. 

The situation was traced to the drugs he was given when he was discharged from the hospital the previous week.

On Monday morning, Jeff rushed to Okemesi’s residence and attempted to get him admitted into different hospitals. He said several facilities, including a government hospital in Igodo, declined to take him in, mainly due to lack of bed space.

After facing rejection at multiple centres, he returned Okemesi to the private hospital where his treatment had first started. The medical team admitted him again and worked to stabilise his condition.

Although his breathing later showed some improvement, Okemesi slipped into a coma on Monday morning. He has since been placed on oxygen as doctors monitor him closely.

Jeff appealed to Nigerians to keep the actor in their prayers and also asked for further financial support as the medical bills continue to rise
