Two top media aides working for Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa have stepped down from their roles in the past two days.
The first to leave was Pastor Taiwo Ilesanmi Gbamila, who served as the Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Multimedia.
On Monday, he sent a letter to Governor Aiyedatiwa and the Secretary to the State Government saying he was quitting the job and thanking the governor for the chance to serve.
The second official, Olugbenga Abire, who was the Special Assistant on New Media, also ended his appointment.
He shared his decision publicly before it was formally acknowledged, and said he had already informed the governor about his plan to leave.
The governor accepted the decision and wished him well.
Neither of the two aides gave a clear public reason for leaving their positions.
But some reports suggest that other media team members at the governor’s office are also considering quitting because of how they feel they have been treated, problems with getting funds, and unhappiness with how things are going in their work environment.
The resignations mark a quick change in the governor’s communications team, and it appears others may follow in the coming days.
