The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Maiduguri has detained three people for allegedly damaging Nigerian currency.
The suspects, identified as Adam Muhammad, Muhammad Muhammad, and Bashir Musa, were arrested after a video went viral showing them using a N500 note to clean their nose.
After the video circulated widely on social media, EFCC operatives traced the suspects and took them into custody within Maiduguri.
They are now being held at the Maiduguri detention center as investigations continue.
The case will proceed to court once the EFCC completes its investigation into the matter.
