Reality TV star and singer Vee Iye has criticized comedian Seyi Law after he made remarks about the country’s security situation.
Seyi Law said during a podcast that Nigeria is safer now than it was ten years ago and claimed the current administration has reduced violence and killed more bandits than previous governments.
He also mentioned that kidnappings have been happening for years and that bomb blasts are no longer frequent.
He said: “Nigeria is safer now than 10 years ago. This government has killed more bandits since Jonathan’s. When have you last heard of a bomb blast? It is not today that they have been kidnapping people in their houses. Nigeria’s economy is better than Tinubu met it.”
Reacting, Vee Iye described the comedian’s comments as insensitive.
She said Nigerians have become desensitized and are only focused on their personal interests, rather than the broader challenges affecting the nation.
She wrote: “Nigeria Please. It’s not today that they have been kidnapping people in their house.
“A perfect example of a desensitised Nigerian citizen who can’t see past his own pockets.”
