Wike Not Our Member - APC.

The All Progressives Congress has stated that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, does not belong to the party, even though he supported its candidates in the recent area council election in the Federal Capital Territory.

Wike, who is still a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, worked openly for candidates of the All Progressives Congress during the election. Before the polls, he had declared that he would back candidates who align with the Renewed Hope programme of President Bola Tinubu.

The election took place across the Federal Capital Territory, where the APC won five out of the six chairmanship seats in the area councils. Wike played an active role in the campaigns, and his involvement has sparked fresh talks about his loyalty to his party.

During an interview on Arise News, the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, was asked what action the party would take if Wike were a member of the APC and was working for another party, an act many see as going against party rules.

Morka refused to speak on a situation he described as imaginary. He said such a matter concerns the PDP and should be directed to the party. According to him, it is not his place to discuss how another political party manages its internal affairs.

Although he admitted that Wike played a part in the outcome of the FCT election, Morka made it clear that the minister has not joined the APC and remains outside its membership.
